Programma

13.30 uur    Registration

14.00 uur    Opening en welcome

    PDM Platform board

14.05 uur    Key-note: Smart Engineering: The impact of Industry 4.0 on PLM

    Henrik von Scheel

We entered the 2nd wave of the 4th industrial revolution that has fundamentally altered the way we live, consume, work, interact with each other and every aspect of our society, economy, business and environment. It changes every aspect of our lives, all countries and industries in scale, scope, and complexity, unlike anything humankind has experienced before. The Industry 4.0 resets the competitive landscape in a scale never seen before. The 2nd wave delivers unparallel opportunities for growth and productivity for every government, business and industry.

Manufacturing and product lifecycle is a the epic centre and it redefines the value chain of how products are developed. The development of smart products requires the intelligent linking of engineering processes across different companies and across different domains. That is what we mean by „Smart Engineering“. Prerequisite for Smart Engineering is an overhaul of existing PLM architectures and end-to-end digitalization of the entire product lifecycle that enables new services, smart products and creates the next generation of operational excellence, smart automation for regulatory adoption, connectivity and alignment across the value chain.

15.00 uur    Digital Journey 2022 – the human perspective

    Marcelle Schillings, Atos

The current age of disruptive change and digital shockwaves will continue to affect business and society. The era in which the art of the possible was what companies strove for is turning into the era in which  the art of the permissible  becomes more important, as more and more people start to wonder if every technological advance should be actuated. Digital Dilemma’s crop up. Should, for instance, a company retrain its employees so that they can cope with new technologies? Should they replace them with new recruits that bring the required knowledge? Should companies invest in AI and robotics and replace human workforce even further? Atos’ Scientific Community created an approach to consider this type of Digital Dilemma’s.

15.45 uur    Break

16.30 uur    Key-note: digital twins on the catwalk

Lien Van De Velde & Dick Laan, Van de Velde

The business process of Van de Velde (luxury lingerie) is characterized by a high seasonal refresh rate of the products we bring to market (25.000 new sku’s each year, 60 different sizes). This process is only possible by adopting digital tools like 2D CAD for pattern making and a suitable ERP system for managing the BOM/BOW structures and data flow. More recently we started introducing 3D CAD for lingerie design. During our presentation we will show examples of how we are using 3D CAD to speed up collection development and improve communication in the value chain. Furthermore the impact of 3D CAD on our PDM infrastructure will be discussed.

17.10 uur    Two steps forward, one step back – the development of PLM over the past decades

    Dick Mandemaker, ASML

The concept of PLM started in the mid 80’s within aerospace companies, that were evolving from Engineering Document Control (EDC) to Engineering Data Management (EDM). The vision was that a structured approach for managing documents and CAD would lead to more efficient processes. Besides that, there also was a requirement from the regulatory agencies to improve Configuration Management. An important objective also was to break down the organizational silos in order to reach what we today would call "Connected Business". During the early 90’s this led to the concept of Product Data Management (PDM), in which the Bill of Materials became the backbone for all product related information. A major hurdle to overcome was the focus of many companies and especially their CFO’s on ERP and the question was also asked whether another enterprise data system was really necessary, even further complicating the existing application landscape. At the end of the 90’s the term Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) was born, indicating that organizations should view "Product Data" from an end-to-end business process perspective: Creating closed feedback loops between R&D, Manufacturing and product support. In the beginning of the 21st century this evolved into the concept of the Digital Twin and the approach of Model Based Engineering. So, we think the future of PLM, a concept that has evolved over many years, is brighter than ever!?

17.50 uur    Dinner

18.45uur    Translating future vision to a resistant practice

Wessel Fokkema, MEYN & Chair PDM Platform

Being a weary PLM professional, you’re always told that the future is bright, the promise of flowering landscapes is in the air. But the way towards that future is full of rocks, slippery mud and all sorts of inconveniences. Maybe we can learn from two of the leading PLM provider. We’ve asked them to paint the the long term PLM landscape, that probably already exists and address the actions to be taken by the customer base to reap the fruits of PLM-paradise.

19.00uur    Dassault Systèmes

    Lening Zhang, Dassault Systèmes

We are in an Industry Renaissance where there will be new ways, real and virtual, of inventing, learning, producing and trading. Tomorrow’s game changer will not be those with the most automated production systems, but those who are the most collaborative ones. This is true both in who organization network with and their direct staff.
Lening ZHANG will explore those industry challenges and illustrate how 3DEXPERIENCE Platform enables collaboration by removing barriers between potential business partners, supports business transformation from a production-based model to an innovation-based model that focuses on enhancing the customer experience.

19.30uur    Innovation without boundaries

    Pieter Dejonghe, Siemens Industry Software

The well-known and respected PLM-blogger Oleg Shilovitsky wrote in a recent article: “The value of PLM technologies is in the ability to connect downstream processes with engineering. This is a charter for many companies looking into pragmatic digital transformation. How to connect purchasing, manufacturing planners, contractors, suppliers into a single digital network? It is a very challenging task because nothing is more complex than the competition with a status quo.”

In this presentation Siemens will illustrate our answer on the comment of Oleg and explain how integrating the various engineering disciplines and roles in our PLM offering is helping companies to achieve the next level of digital transformation.

20.00 uur    Final remarks & informal reception
